Why Bade Achhe Lagte Hain Season 4 Struggles with TRPs Despite the Online Stardom of Harshad and Shivangi

Despite the massive online popularity of Harshad Chopda and Shivangi Joshi, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain Season 4, which premiered on Sony TV on June 16, 2025, has struggled to achieve strong television rating points (TRPs), recently recording a modest 0.3. Several factors contribute to the disconnect between the actors' digital fanbase and the show’s television performance.

Firstly, the show faces stiff competition in the crowded 8 PM slot, particularly with scheduling disruptions from events like the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 and the launch of rival shows such as Prithviraj Chauhan*. This intense competition has likely diluted its viewership. Additionally, the romantic drama genre is competing with trending formats like supernatural thrillers, such as Aami Daakini which have outperformed  Bade Achhe Lagte Hain* in terms of TRPs.

Limited promotional efforts have also hindered the show's reach. Fans on platforms like X have noted a lack of engaging behind-the-scenes content or interviews that could attract more casual viewers. While Harshad and Shivangi, beloved for their roles in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, generate buzz online, some viewers feel that the promos and early episodes lack fresh chemistry or compelling styling. Discussions on Reddit have pointed to a repetitive "fake-marriage-to-love" storyline.

Moreover, the Bade Achhe Lagte Hain franchise, which was iconic for its first season’s high TRPs, may be experiencing fatigue as later seasons have struggled to match the original’s appeal. The online hype, fueled by moments like romantic scenes, may not always translate to television viewership, especially as younger fans prefer streaming on SonyLIV, which does not impact TRPs.

Despite the low ratings, the show’s emotional depth and the chemistry between Harshad and Shivangi continue to engage fans. Harshad’s focus on storytelling over TRPs suggests the show has a niche appeal.
