Actress Paridhi Sharma says her character, Nupur, in Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei is an emotional one but also strong-headed at the same time. "Nupur is very emotional, but at the same time, strong-headed, if the situation demands. She has a strong conviction in her belief and she is an amazing dancer. She is a very loving mother but lost her child when she was 3 years, and since 7 years without losing hope even for a second, she is finding her child, Payal (Chikoo)," she said.

She is attracted to her character's personality, conviction and the fact that she is the protagonist. Her self belief, standing for truth, conviction on her belief and of course, love for dance." The show is produced by Herumb Khot and Nilanjana Purkayasstha. "It is absolutely an amazing experience. They give us full freedom to perform and bring my version and understanding of the character. They keep appreciating me for my good performances. The pandemic has affected the way we work, but now she thinks the situation is quite under control.

Harshad Chopda has become flavour of the season with Rajan Shahi's Ye Ristha Kya Kehlata Hai!

Harshad Chopda as Abhimanyu Birla in the third part of Rajan Shahi’s popular trilogy Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH) has been making the right noise. Happy with the shades of his character and the kind of scope it has in the story, the actor is happy to have taken up the offer.

YRKKH has been one of the longest-running shows on the tube. Harshad shares that the season is a part of is all new and has a different approach. “I was promised a new show. I have been delivered a new show,” he sounds content.
His character Abhimanyu is a doctor by profession. He adds, “He is a man with zero personal life experience. When I say zero experience, I mean he has worldly experience like he has been to good schools and colleges, knows his work, and even does well at the hospital. But he is unaware of things beyond that, his emotions are all driven towards his work. As far as what he saw and understood from that, he made up his mind based on that and made the same thinking his reality.

About the reason why he said yes to the character and how much he relates to the character, Harshad says, “There was something to play and I felt like I wanted to do that character. The way it has been written and the scope it has it interesting. So, all these actually attracted me to take this role up. Playing Abhimanyu feels like I am giving my own to the character and I think the character is shaping me.”
Ask about his experience of working with Rajan Shahi and his team at Directors Kut Production, he adds, “It’s so good that I want to say, ‘Thu Thu Thu , Nazar na lage’ (smiles).”
Content is king these days, unlike what it was earlier. However, Harshad looks at it differently. He explains his point of view.
“When I think about it, what also comes to my mind that even if a writer or content creator creates good content, it also depends on how it is being presented and performed. If these two things aren’t done well then no justice would be done to the content. I think nobody likes that. So, I agree that content is king but at the same time a product is only successful when everything and everyone work well. So, I divide the credit 50 – 50,” he says.
YRKKH symbolizes human values and relationships, and Rajan Shahi is known for his crisp storytelling. “Usually what happens is that wherever you work, there are certain rules and regulations. This place has traditions. There are different things which I cannot really explain. All I can say is that apart from all the rules and requirements, this place is about human values and relationships. And, I think any artist or gifted person is nothing without values and how the person is with their loved ones,” he adds showering praises on the producer and his entire team.
It’s often seen that love triangles make the drama interesting. YRKKH also explores this angle. “Well, I think good stories are good stories. And it does not matter what the genre or the angle it explores,” he ends.

26 year old Sneha Namanandi- Nineties kids like to watch reality-based shows

Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2 actress Sneha Namanandi says the 90s kids prefer watching reality-based shows. "TV has evolved in the last few years. When I was a kid, I used to watch these television shows which were quite dramatic. In fact, I would say overdramatic," she said ahead of World Television Day that is observed on November 21. "Now me being a part of a television show, I can see a lot of differences. There's a lot of reality which I think actually jumped into television shows because the generation has changed. I'm 26, so people of my generation would not like watching dramatic stuff, you know the 90s kids. We like it more real and so, we honestly like watching the kind of shows where there's reality involved," she added. She thinks that shows on Indian TV have evolved. "Because of OTT, the number of television audience has gone down. I can see that now also when I'm doing the show, a lot of people watch shows on OTT only. You can also see a lot of shows which are too real on TV, so people will definitely make it a point to watch it. But yes, I will definitely agree with the point that because of OTT, TV target audience has gone down," said the owner of the pet cafe The Pet Station in Andheri (West).

But at the same time, she is surprised to know that the younger generation also watches television shows. Also, a lot of people who are above 50 and 60 are watching young OTT shows as well. "I don’t think that age has anything to do with the kind of shows that are being made," she said.

She watches TV at times. "I like watching comedy shows because I like to be happy. As for my work, I am part of a daily soap. I enjoy doing the drama show a lot because I've never been a part of a daily soap. So yes, it's fun," said Sneha.

Monika Khanna talks about her role in Herumb Khot and Nilanjana Purkayasstha's show Chickoo Ki Mummy Door Kei!

Monika Khanna’s Rangoli in Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei has been grabbing eyeballs. The show is produced by Herumb Khot and Nilanjana Purkayasstha. The actor is happy with the response around her character Rangoli.

“Rangoli is upfront and rowdy. She’s “chawl ki gundi”, and at the same time she loves her kids a lot. She runs a business where she makes her kids steal because according to her the rich people take from the poor people. So if the poor people steal from the rich then that is not actually stealing, but it’s like taking what belongs to them. Rangoli is a vibrant and versatile character. She’s a mother of six, her intentions for them are pure but her style of upbringing is different. She might be strict at times but if no one can say anything to her kids,” she describes her character.
Monika liked everything about the character, be it the language Rangoli speaks, or the way she behaves. There are reasons why she agreed to do the part. “Mouthing the dialogues is tough but it’s interesting. I also like Rangoli’s attitude, the way she looks at the world or lives her life. This character is different from anything that I've done so far,” she adds. When it comes to relating with Rangoli, Monika shares that they are extremely opposite of one another.  “That’s why it’s both challenging and interesting. When you get a chance to play something like this, something out-of-the-box, it often gets the best out of you,” explains the actor, who bonds well with Chikoo (Vaishnavi Prajapat) and Himanshu (Milind Joshi) on the set. In fact, Himanshu is one of her closest friends in the industry. Talking about her collaboration with the producers, Monika says, “Working with Herumb sir and Nilanjana has always been a great pleasure. When it comes to creativity or trying something new, they are the people who can do it. They do not write monotonous characters, their stories are interesting and I want to be a part of their next show also. They are like two pillars of the show. We know they will take care of all of us.”
Content is king. “I think the story has to be rich, believable and logical enough to succeed. If the story is not strong we will also not enjoy doing it, neither will the audience be able to connect with it. Chikoo… is the story of a kid who struggles hard to find her mother and even when she does she is unable to reveal her true identity. So it’s a very beautiful story,” she adds. The pandemic has affected the way we work. “It has made things very different. Every day we have our check-up, covid test… so every time in our mind it's always like hope everything is fine, we have to get things done quickly, there is no room for any error, etc. The situation is difficult, but it’s much better now,” she ends.

Yaariyan actor Himansh Kohli misses frequently going to amusement parks.

I miss going to amusement parks. I still visit them once every 2-3 years or less but I wish I could do it more often," he said.

He has more fond memories when it comes to his childhood. "My favourite memory is munching on anything in the world without worrying about how it is going to affect my body. I had so much trash food in my childhood, I wish I could eat it again, and being born and brought up in a place like Delhi makes you an even more 'Chatora'," he said.

He used to also dance to tracks from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. "My house's personal favourite was Ajeeb Dastan Hai Ye, which is a song that we have all relished together for ages," said the actor, who will be seen in the film Boondi Raita.

Childhood is a very important component of one's life. It is said that one shouldn't lose the innocence of childhood, but as a person grows up one develops maturity and too much wisdom.

"I completely agree. I try to be without filters and revisions and speak from my heart. It is important to keep that child in you alive as the viewpoint of a child is always unbiased and carefree," he said.

Kawach actress Pranitaa Pandit is all for festive sequences in TV shows.

It's true that festive sequences really work well on TV and there is always some drama that happens around that time and that is true in real life as well. There is so much happening and it's so interesting. There are people whom you meet, you dress up and socialize. It's obvious that something or the other happens and that is what people really love about the festive sequences on TV and real life too," she said.

"It's all about enjoyment and celebration, and in real life also in our culture, these festivals are supposed to happen to unite people and to celebrate together. So these festival sequences really add up to the storyline and audiences also get ideas on how to celebrate special occasions and how to make it more fun," she added.

She thinks such sequences give rise to TRPs because people are really intrigued by what their favourite characters are wearing, what their style is, and what twists and turns are going to happen.

"Usually in a show there are few characters who are linked by the main lead but in a festive sequence such as a Diwali sequence or Holi sequence, you know that everyone is going to come together and the drama is going to be more intact, so of course it gives a very good backdrop. Like even when we go for a wedding in real life we know that we are going to meet our relatives and there is so much gossip that is going to happen," she shared.

On why such glamorized sequences work in the case of a daily soap, she said, "It is because there are a lot of interesting things that happen like the songs, the dress, how they conduct themselves and handle situations. It is all about togetherness and enjoyment and the drama, so it does interest people a lot because they want to see their favourites on television and get inspired by them."

Festive sequences in TV shows always generate curiosity, says Nishant Malkani. The Rakshabandhan... Rasal Apne Bhai Ki Dhal actor shares that such special episodes garner TRPs as well

Festive sequences in TV shows always generate curiosity, says Nishant Malkani. The Rakshabandhan... Rasal Apne Bhai Ki Dhal actor shares that such special episodes garner TRPs as well.  “The reason they are popular because people like to see happy moments, glamour, and their favourite television families celebrating different festivals. So yes, I feel people are always looking forward to see such sequences because they want everything to look beautiful, prettier and shinier. Also, during these sequences there is a high point as people look forward to such drama also,” he says.

Such sequences also have a lot of singing and dancing. “That adds to the “masala” of the show and the story. These dance sequences also have lots of other actors from different shows usually coming for the maha-episode or maha-sangram and that brings a lot of audiences together. People love to see how their favourite characters from different shows interact with each other and how their chemistry looks,” explains the actor.

Talking about TRPs and more, Nishant adds further, “During these glamorous events like festivals, shaadis, sagai… TRP do go up because such sequences also have visual value. Adding to that there is this interesting twist in the plot. Also, say if the show is about a Gujarati family then while Gujaratis would enjoy watching this show, others also get to know more about the culture. So it also does provide a lot of knowledge and education to different set of people about different festivals. So, I feel all these things combined help TV shows create a lot of buzz and interest.”

Harshad Chopda isn’t keen on reality shows: I’m a boring person, plus I’ve social media to reach out to my fans, and don’t need a reality show for that

arshad Chopda - “Rajan sir briefed me about the character, which I liked"

After successful string shows like Mamta, Left Right Left, Ambar Dhara and Humsafars, Harshad Chopda is now playing the role of Abhimanya Birla in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH). In between, the actor took a hiatus while waiting patiently for substantial roles to come his now. His wish fulfilled with Bepannah and now YRKKH. Harshad recalls getting a call from producer Rajan Shahi for the third season of YRKKH trilogy.

“Rajan sir briefed me about the character, which I liked, and he liked my audition. Everything was smooth as if it was meant to be. I had met Rajan sir during Bidaai when I was doing Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil. I couldn’t be a part of Bidaai, but we were in touch. At that time also Yeh Rishta… was on air. I haven’t watched the show but I am aware of what was happening on it,” he says.

In the previous season, Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi were the face of the show and were a huge hit. On how easy or difficult it is to make a place in the audiences’ heart and live up to the expectations, Harshad replies, “Whatever I do, I give my 100 percent to it. The show was never presented to me as an already running show. Instead, I got to see it as a new show.” Looking back, Harshad started his career in 2006, and did a selected few shows. He also took breaks in between.

“YRKKH is my 10th show! It’s not a conscious decision to take a break of two-three years after every show, the reason is lack of good opportunity. I’m a workaholic and initially, when I didn’t get the work of my choice, I would go berserk. But then I realised work is not just about what you’re doing outside, but inwards as well. So every time a show gets over, I work on myself. I try and learn new things. Like I’ve learned swimming, horse riding, yoga, guitar, drums and so on,” he reveals.

Harshad also spoke about the offers he was getting. “It’s not about good or bad offers but I just couldn’t imagine myself in the roles I was offered. At the end of the day I’m quite a choosy person and that is evident from the kind of shows I do and the number of shows I’ve done. Wherever I’m today is because of the NO’s I’ve said. Also, I’ve set a target in my bank account. Whenever the amount comes below a certain limit, I say yes to a good project, before that I keep on working on myself,” he shares.

Not keen on doing reality shows, Harshad adds, “I’m a very boring person in real life. Plus I’ve social media platforms to reach out to my fans and doesn’t need a reality show to do that. At best I can do is a dance reality show as it requires a certain art and craft.”

Keen on doing OTT, the actor shares, “The kind of web shows offered to me were either had overdose of abusive language or sleazy. Going bold isn’t my problem but if the idea of a maker is only abusive language and bold scenes, then there’s no scope for an artist, although I’ve not drawn any boundaries for myself.”

So, is there a special someone in your life? “I’m very much single. I myself want to know why I’m still single (Laughs). Hope it changes soon. I want to fall in love, date, get married,” he says.

Yeh Rishta kya Kehlata Hai actress Karishma Sawant says that television has evolved and she hasn’t found "any female subject stereotype".

Asked about stereotypes that exist in the TV space, she said, "I think there must have been a time when the stereotypes existed, but with time things have evolved. TV has evolved and there are so many viewers, so I think in my career till now, I haven't found any female subject stereotype."

She always looked forward to becoming an actor.  "I always thought that my potential was not being used in the right place, and acting was the perfect platform because I have a creative mind, and acting is about creativity. I always found the acting profession very interesting, so I always looked forward to becoming an actor," said the actress, who plays Arohi in the long-running show by Rajan Shahi of Directors Kut Production.

Talking about her bond with her co-stars, she shared that it has evolved because of the scenes that have been happening, especially the sibling scenes. "It feels like I have so many siblings in real life too and not just in reel life. Off-screen also, me, Mayank, Sharan and Pranali are all bonding like siblings. So it's beautiful and so much fun performing the scenes because we already feel like a family. Everyone is so supportive and we are all a real team," she said.

Her character isn't positive, but also not negative, and she finds it challenging

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai trilogy actor Paras Priyadarshan is full of energy.

Paras Priyadarshan: I like to play characters that have energy

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai trilogy actor Paras Priyadarshan is full of energy.

In the show, he plays the parallel lead. "I'm playing the character, Neel. He is basically someone who is not from the Birlas family, but he has been staying with the Birlas. He's someone who has a lot of energy. He's very youthful. If someone has an idea in the house, Neel will probably be the first person to take action on it. He's very enthusiastic, he likes to take initiatives and he shares a very brotherly bond with Abhimanyu, the character that is played by Harshad Chopra. They're there for each other and understand each other well. It's a great chemistry I'm gonna share with him as well," he said.

What attracted him to the character Neel was the fact that "I like to play characters that have energy. And I think with this, I get to showcase that."

"Also, the fact that he's someone not from the Birlas family, kind of makes him an outsider. But he's still an insider. So that makes things very interesting. In the story, there's a lineage of doctors, but Neel isn't a doctor which is also very interesting because that creates a lot of interesting situations. There will be situations when he doesn't know anything that's been spoken about."
"Apart from these reasons, I think the co-actors. The fact that the show has been running for so long, the fact that I'm getting the opportunity to work with (producer) Rajan Shahi Sir, all of these things. I love to work with great people. Director Kut Productions is one of the biggest production houses," he added.
He also relates to his character. "Since I'm young I also think I have a lot of energy. I do like to take initiatives and I do like to do certain things. I'm not a doctor, so I do relate to Neel in a lot of ways," said Paras.
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is the longest-running show on Indian Television, and he is very excited to be a part of it.
"Considering the fact that it has been going on for years proves that the storytelling, the performances, the connection with the audience have been intact for a lot of years. I'm very excited to be a part of this show and very excited to see how and what I can do to contribute to making this show even better," he said about the show that launched in 2009.
According to him, content is the King.  "If we notice any of the previous trends, if we even look at the very near past...any show that has come up, if the content has not been great, then those shows have been shut down and then have been replaced by new shows. I believe that Indian audiences are extremely smart and they deserve to have the best content. And with the rise of OTT, with good TV, content is definitely going to be the king. I think any kind of creative work, especially in terms of what we do in filmmaking, or TV or OTT, I think the first binding factor for the audience will be the writing. So yes, content is absolutely the supreme king," he said.

The show symbolizes human values and relationships, and Rajan Shahi is known for his crisp storytelling.

"I think any kind of storytelling requires human values, exploring human relationships and I think Rajan Sir is a master of that. He's known for his crisp storytelling. I'm really looking forward to working with him. I've seen his shows. I've seen glimpses, be it Anupama or YRKKH or even his past shows, but I haven't gotten the opportunity to work with him," he said.

He thinks that love triangles make the drama very interesting.  "Love triangles basically create conflicts because they create confusion. I think it creates lots of emotions. I truly think a person can fall in love with one or more people and then I think in those situations there can be a lot of conflicts and a lot of interesting emotions stem out from there," said Paras.

Talking about the title Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, he said, "When I think of the title Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, the first thing that comes to my mind is that there is no name to this relationship. It's like labels make things dull. I think not having a label on something makes it interesting. 'Ki mujhe nahi pata yeh kya hai lekin yeh jo bhi hai yeh interesting hai, and I like having this in my life ( I don't know what it is, but whatever it is this is interesting)'. So thinking of the title YRKKH, I think of unnamed relationships, having no labels attached."

Aliya Hamidi: I really don’t understand those people who body shame or age shame others

While it is mostly believed that age is just a number, but many often hide their real age. According to actor and Influencer Aliya Hamidi   Aliya Hamidi, people tend to not reveal their age because of the stigmas attached to the same. The actor and influencer says that no one enjoys being judged for the wrong reasons.

“Today you have so many aesthetic surgeries so why is there a need to say your age? Whatever your age is, you can be young by heart. I am young and if you see Mouni Roy or Deepika Padukone, they are in their thirties yet they look so youthful and gorgeous. When I see my niece and nephew, they are 13 and 14 years old, but they look quite mature, maybe in their twenties. They look older at such a young age. So, you can’t actually say what one’s age is by the way that person looks,” she says.

Age shaming has become a common thing, both publicly and on social media. “When you start working at the age of 22 and then if you are there in the industry for 8 years, people start saying that you must be 30 or 32 years old. But they do not know that you have struggled since the age of 16. For men, there is no age limit but I don't know why people do that with women in particular. I really don’t understand those people who body shame or age shame others,” she adds.

Workplace ageism is also very common. But, Aliya does not pay much heed to all that and has her dreams and plans for the future set.

“I have just started my career so it is too early for me to say. I know I am the best and never going to get disappointed if I lose out on projects, because I have my social media to fall back on, it is my base. I never expected to get into Bollywood, my dream was something else. But, since I started working, I expect to do substantial work. If I get disappointed I will try somewhere else and if not I will get married and settle down in Dubai,” she says.

Ranaksh Rana: I was always fascinated by theatre, acting

Fidaai actor and model Ranaksh Rana has shared his love for acting.

"I was always fascinated by the art of theatre and acting. I was a part of a theatre group many years ago and I loved everything about it, right from the preparation of playing a character to actually playing a character. I worked in different industries during which I had explored theatre and modelling. I played different profiles in the corporate world, but you can say that acting was my calling," he said.

"I have been a part of the corporate world, have been a fitness consultant and done sales in many different industries. But it was always my dream to be an artist. With the right amount of self belief, encouragement from others and hard work, this switch was possible," added the model, who enjoys writing, doing voice-over, photography and working on fitness.

He had worked for a Marathi music video in 2018, but he considers getting the Face of India 2020 as a major milestone. "Also, Fidaai was my first break," he said about the music video.

The music video also featured Ellie AvrRam. On working with her, he said, "It was amazing. I was her fan and had dreamt of meeting her at least to take a picture with her. Little did I know, I would get a chance to share screen space with her."

Talking about the pros and cons about the entertainment industry, he shared, "Pro is that you get to be anyone and everyone. Con is that you get to be anyone and everyone. I believe in action and outcomes. Analysing and making opinions become subjective and may change with time and situations."

As for the kind of projects he wants to do, he said, "Everything under the sun that helps me grow as a person and evolve as an artist. I have big dreams and the will to work on them."

He believes that pandemic has changed the way we live. "While a lot of opportunities were lost, the same, if not more; have come back now.
More new talents are getting opportunities and good work is in demand," he said.

He feels that pandemic has changed the world overnight, so you can’t have a rigid plan for the future. "That will only lead to disappointment. I have a path and a road ahead and I want to keep going on it and work towards my goals and dreams," he said.

Sirf Tum ticks all boxes of a masala TV drama (Review)

The Bajaoman has started a new review section where we will give our funda of what we liked or disliked about your fav shows. We start with Vivian Dsena and Eisha Singh much-awaited show Colors series Sirf Tum.

Sirf Tum ticks all boxes of a masala TV drama

Color 'show Sirf Tum is a full-on engaging masala drama with action starting right at the start. (Congo to Rashmi Sharma ji and her team)

Many girls will identify with the scared Suhani ( Eisha Singh), totally under her strict father, Rakesh Sharma( Sanjay Batra). Mother Sudha( Eva Ahuja) trying to help in her limited way is another common occurrence in India.

Conservative parents dont allow their daughters to attend co-ed colleges, and Suhani wants to join a medical college with a scholarship. (Another hindrance to female higher education)

To further complicate matters, the family also has a nagging grandmother (Jasmit Babbar). The father encouraging his younger son to become a doctor while asking Suhani to stay at home is another classic example of gender disparity.

Interestingly miserly, Rakeshji seems to own a nice pad but does not have a car.

Suhani turns up at the medical college to get her admission form( How come the last date of registration falls on result day? )

Ideally, the backdrop of a medical college should be labs and hospital wards, but here you only have sports (Volleyball and football)

Hero Vivian( Ranveer) is late for his soccer match. He is trying a death-defying stunt to get psyched up (Guys, better CG pls, plus run a disclaimer lest some stupid fan pulls a similar trick.

One girl tries to flirt with him, but he chasses and publically humiliates asking to kiss him in front of all( Er feminists, your take??)

In the above melee, Suhani's admission form gets torn. Like a knight in shining armour, Ranbir uses his father, Vikrant Oberoi's ( Nimai Bali), college trustee tag to get her new forms, despite the office being closed

Ranveer has a bad relationship with his father ( second wife). No prizes for guessing Rakesh Ji father works for Mr Oberio.

Ranveer's mother, Mamta ( Shalani Kapoor), is the classical loving mother.

Ranveer loses his cool when the rival captain talks rubbish about his sister and beats him ( Should Ranveer be expelled or dad pull the strings). again Suhani unwittingly gets involved in the melee, and Ranveer holds back his fist, seeing her.

Ranveer will chase Suhani, who the world will ask to stay away from him, as not to be called gold digger ]

Suhani's bestie, Riya ( Tina Ayodhya), will eventually turn enemy with both digging the same guy.

I hope we get a lot of hospital scenes as Ranveer is an intern medical drama are fun to watch

Vivian fans will love the aggressive bad boy with a golden heart image. Eisha has got the perfect sweet tv lass character. The creative has not tried any different; I can't blame them. Colors need a bit hit in quick time, and there is no time for experimentation.

Rating 3/ 5( I could have given a four, but some of the above bloopers were too glaring )

Culminating an immensely successful runthe entire cast and crew of the show got together to celebrate their achievements while bidding teary-eyed goodbyes to each other. In fact, Adhvik and Amandeep out of sheer gratification for their characters also went to post a picture of their last scene together.

Overwhelmed with the response towards his character, Adhvik Mahajan who essayed the character of Jogi said, “I am taking away a lot of fond memories from this journey. Jogi as a character has been really close to my heart and during the course of this show I have given my all to ensure he is nothing short of an entertainer. While I will definitely miss Jogi, I am also going to miss the entire cast and crew who have been nothing short of supportive figures. A heartfelt thank you to the team and our audience for all their tremendous love and support. Bidding goodbye to each of you almost feels like I am leaving a family behind."

Gratified with the response towards her character, Amandeep Sidhu who essayed the character of Mahi said, “Every beginning has its own end, and we surely couldn’t have asked for a more memorable one to have. Performing the last scene with Adhvik certainly felt surreal and it really got us extremely emotional considering the journey we have had during this time. Adhvik and many other members of the cast became closer than a family to us and I am surely going to cherish all the good times spent together. More than anything, I am going to miss being Mahi on screen, she has truly been a warm and empowering figure in my life and there is quite a lot that I am taking back from her. I am extremely thankful to all our viewers who have endlessly supported an cheered for us, we wouldn’t have made it this far without them. Cheers to them and here’s hoping for new beginnings.

Well, we will definitely miss watching our favourite #Jogimahi on screen!

On Children's Day celebs take the road back to their childhood, share favorite memory and song

Children's Day is observed every year on November 14 as a tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru, who was fondly called Chacha Nehru. To celebrate this day, a few celebrities from the industry have shared their favourite childhood memory and also their favourite song.

Ridhiema Tiwari

I grew up on a residential campus of a school in Valsad. My most favorite memory is walking up to school holding my brother's hand. It was a 5-minute beautiful nature walk with huge playgrounds and a hostel for boys starting from senior kg till the 12th. We lived on campus in the same discipline like the hostel boys since my parents were teachers on campus. As a child I had early morning PT and yoga classes and lived in an extremely protective environment. Though I didn’t value it then, today when I look back, I miss the space, the parks, the goshala and I do miss the mess serving the best of Gujarati food.

As a child I cried at the drop of a hat and my teachers called me pani ki tank and I found Rote Rote Hasna seekho very intriguing even then. Ironically much later in life, it became the philosophy of my life.

Nupur Joshi

I was pampered and spoilt one. During summer vacations, the house used to be on fire with all my cousins, uncles and aunts to brighten up the madness. I used to record rhymes and songs on empty tapes, and in the process sometimes ended up spoiling a few original tapes from my father’s collections leading to, I think I should leave that for your imaginations, hehe.

My favorite song was Cun chun karti aayi chidiya.

Ranaksh Rana

I have childhood memories but I want to bring out that not all childhoods are rosy and happy. I grew up in a remote village in UP and I worked really hard to be where I am.

I do miss sitting by the canal, listening to the sound of water, running around in the farm, playing with the horses, getting kicked by the horses and then getting scolded for it. These are the real memories.

Harssh A Singh

My favorite childhood memory is spending those cool summer nights on the terrace. I grew up in Ludhiana, Punjab and in summers or just after monsoons in September we used to sleep on charpais on the terrace. Mom used to let me curl up next to her and we used to have those rotating fans that used to blow the white covers off you every time the fans rotated towards you. Me and my sister used to argue about who would sleep closer to the fans and so we used to take turns on the closer charpai. My grandmother would read out from comics like Champak and Amar Chitra Katha so Chacha Choudhary and other characters were our bedtime stories.

What I miss about my childhood is how we used to play every evening. In Model Town Ludhiana, evenings meant all the neighborhood kids would get together and play Stapu or Pithu or Uunch Maangi Neench, L-O-N-D-O-N London, Tippi Tippi Tap, Pakkadam Pakkadai, or simply jump on a bicycle and ride the streets. Mumbai is so restricted when it comes to kids playing. I miss the camaraderie and the uncomplicated games. I miss the fact that you could go to any one of my playmates' houses and their moms would feed us - could be 5, could be 10 kids, all were fed. That's a small town benefit I guess.

Harshali Zine

Every phase of childhood has fond memories.  Like when my dad got me my 1st Barbie doll and a big toy house to play with.  Then when my dad got me my 1st keyboard. Whenever I used to win a dancing and singing competition in school and inter school competitions, I would get a gift. The most beautiful and emotional would be the time I got to spend with my elder sister before we grew up and left home for further studies. Since both my parents were working, my sister was like my guardian, my teacher, my best friend. She knew all my secrets. She used to narrate beautiful stories at night to me and my younger brother and tell us about the universe and planets. She would never tell my mom about the complaints my class teachers would make about me. She always had my back. I always felt so protected in her presence. I think I miss that part of my childhood the most. Also, singing old classic  duets with my dad. Ours was a musical family and in between singing and dancing we grew up. It feels like that was another lifetime. Although I cherish those memories, I'm happier now being independent on my own.

"Nanha munna rahi hoon, desh ka sipahi hoon ,bolo mere sang jai hind jai hind jai hind", because I'm born on 15th August, India's Independence day, so since childhood I always felt like a krantikari and coincidently my mother called me Munna. The song was custom made for me.
