Miracles do happen and prayers are answered, says Aniruddh Dave after recovering from COVID-19

ctor Aniruddh Dave talks about being treated for Covid-19, staying positive and how he believes karma matters.

Aniruddh admits that the support of his family, doctors, nursing staff and friends from the entertainment industry helped tremendously.  “Two months is a long time to be hospitalised,” says Aniruddh Dave who was treated for 55 days in a Bhopal hospital after contracting Covid-19.

“To see patients who are suffering, severe cases with various infections, hearing them howling in pain was quite tough to say the least. Himmat rakhna mushkil tha. It was a painful time and one couldn’t shut them out either as everyone was in one room in the ICU. After I shifted to a private room, the hustle-bustle of the hospital and watching emergency situations being dealt with was something I can never forget. Staying positive was not easy,” says the actor, who is currently in Kota, and has been advised bed rest for a month. He still feels fatigue if he stays up, walks or talks for a long time.

Aniruddh Dave admits that the support of his family, doctors, nursing staff and friends from the entertainment industry helped tremendously. “Karma does matter as if I have helped anyone in life or done any good, this is what I have earned. I feel maine yeh good wishes and love kamaya hai life mein. They helped in keeping up my strength and positive energy. I wouldn’t be able to talk to people as I had an oxygen mask, so I would talk in sign language over video calls or text a bit. Even now, talking about all of it is making me so emotional,” he shares.
On being asked how his wife welcomed him he says, "It felt like coming home after winning a death-defying war. My parents, wife and in-laws were happy and relieved to see me back home. Finally, I could see the apple of my eye, my little Anishq, after two months, whom I missed the most. Shopu (he fondly calls his wife Shopu) baked a cake for me and my homecoming was celebrated with fanfare. I could see the happiness on everyone’s face,” he says.
Me,” he signs off.

Television actors get typecast a little faster: Sudhanshu Pandey

Sudhanshu Pandey has been in the industry for over two decades now and has appeared on both small and big screen, and he feels that it's easy for a TV actor to get typecast. However, he mentioned that they can always break the monotony.

He said, "Television actors get typecast little faster because they are seen in a daily show everyday. You are playing this same character every day for year's, so you do tend to get typecast but I think there is always a scope to break away from it because audiences memory is not forever. You do something different, give them a different sort of entertainment through different characters and they will forget your past. It depends on whether you want to do the same thing or you want to move into a different character. It’s a personal choice."

The handsome actor is currently seen as Vanraj Shah in popular TV show "Anupamaa". He revealed when it comes to picking a script he sees how impactful his character is. "The script should be very good, and I think it’s very natural for any actor to see what his character has to give in the script, so I always look for that and I make sure that if I choose a character it has to be absolutely central and important to the story only then I choose the character," he said.

Sudhanshu has done over 40 films where he was seen with actresses like Raveena Tandon, Priyanka Chopra, Gracy Singh, Hrishitaa Bhatt and Mahima Chaudhary. But when asked for his favourite character, he shares that it would be the web series "Hundred" where he was paired opposite Lara Dutta.

So is it a conscious effort to choose different characters? "Well, for an actor, I think it’s very important because you can’t be typecast in one. In our industry especially in Indian film industry, it's a very natural process of getting typecast, so I have always taken roles that are drastically different from each other just like Vanraj Shah is different from anything that I have played till now. It’s always been, and it will always be my conscious effort to not do anything close to the one that I have done earlier," he said.

Speaking of Vanraj Shah, Sudhanshu said, "I was always told by Rajan (Shahi) from the beginning that this is going to be a very different character and true to his word the character has turned out to be one of the most complex and complicated characters that I have done. It has got too many layers and so many different graphs now and then as the story proceeds. This is the most enjoyable character that I have played to date."

He also spoke about how at times a celebrity's personal life takes the center stage once they make their relationship public. He said, "Actors have a certain enigma related to them because people see them on-screen and they always wonder what this person must be in real life, so there is always an enigma related to it and when you give out your details or when you talk about personal life then obviously everybody wants to talk about that because that is something that not everybody gets to know."

"I am a very private person, and I never talk about my personal life out in the media or with anybody. I think an actor should always avoid talking about their personal life on a public platform because then it leaves nothing like a surprise for the audience. After all, you become like an open book for the audience. I feel there should be a certain amount of mystery and enigma attached to an actor always from the audience's point of view because that's what makes them curious about you and see your work," Sudhanshu concluded.

Zaan Khan on the superb on-screen chemistry with Gracy Goswami!

Television actors Zaan Khan and Gracy Goswami play a couple in the TV show Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye and viewers are loving their chemistry, as one can see with the comments online. This has also lead to rumours that the two are more than just co-stars. Besides the duo often posts Instagram reels of them together and also working out pictures when they were shooting recently in a bio-bubble format.

Zaan says they are a successful pair on screen and hence the linkup rumours “I think that is how it rolls. If people don’t like us on screen and they don’t share our edited pictures online then what is the point of putting so much effort into this? Our chemistry is being appreciated and that's it".  My first impression of Gracy was ye kaun padhaku ladki hai. When I saw her for the first time I thought who is this book worm? She had a book in her hand and she was wearing spectacles. She didn’t even look at me and kept reading. But as time passed, she started opening up with me and things are fine now.”  They took time to warm up to each other, but today have become good friends. “Its been quite some time now that we have been working together and now we have an understanding which we cannot express in words," says Zaan. "Now I know how to make her feel comfortable and what are the things that she likes and dislikes. We are like Tom and Jerry we fight a lot but we make sure that before we pack up, we sort things out so that it doesn’t stay with us,” shares Zaan.

Priyanka Lalwani voices support for LGBTQAI+ community: Children after a certain age should be educated about gender and sexual minorities

Actor-model-anchor-influencer Priyanka Lalwani always was aware of those belonging to sexual and gender minorities since she was in high school. But a better knowledge about the LGBT community and the vast movement happened much later. She is happy with how more people are aware of the movement, making it easier for those belonging to the community to come out as compared to what it was ten years back.

“The society has evolved, but a lot of people are still not aware of it. We need to educate people so that they know what the LGBTQAI+ community is. Children after a certain age should be educated about gender and sexual minorities. We have to understand their struggle and not look down upon them. They are just as humans as any straight person is. Just a thought, while watching Koi Mil Gaya, we could accept an imaginary alien-like Jadoo but in real life we fail to accept people belonging to the community, even though the latter look and behave like us unlike the former,” she says.

Priyanka shares having friends belonging to the community, “They are the sweetest. There is nothing different in them apart from being more empathetic, which probably we don’t find a lot these days.”

While the Supreme Court has decriminalized Section 377, same-sex marriage is still illegal in India. “It's high time they made it legal. As they say love is love! It doesn’t matter what someone’s sexual orientation is, they should have an equal right to be with someone they love. We need to normalize this concept,” urges the actor, who has been a part of TV show Jamai Raja, Web series Spotlight 2 and films Vaaesar e Gum Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se.

Giving a heartfelt message to the community, Priyanka adds, “Just be you and be with whoever makes you happy or do whatever makes you happy. Give yourself more priority. We are in the 21st century where caste, religion, sex etc of a person should not come in between love. With what we’ve been through this pandemic, we now know that love and hope is all that we have.”

pki Nazron Ne Samjha' completes 100 successful episodes, cast share their excitement

Sonali and Amir Jaffar's "Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha", which is produced under the couple's banner Full House Media, completed 100 episodes on Friday (June 25). The show that went on-air on March 2 revolves around the story of a blind photographer and how he and his wife together face various challenges in their life. The cast is proud of this new milestone and shared their excitement with us. Here's what they said:

Vijayendra Kumeria: Honestly, I did not realise how swiftly time passed and we completed 100 episodes. It has been a good experience so far, and I have enjoyed every bit of the character that I am playing. It is a new character for me, and it's quite challenging too. Every day that I go on the set there's some prep required for me individually, so I am enjoying the process of that. People have liked the show. I have got a lot of appreciation for it, and I am quite happy. I hope that people keep liking it. It's a great experience working with Full House Media. Sonali and Amir Jaffar, they are very approachable and very nice people to work with. Sonali Ji has a lot of experience of writing, so it comes in the show. It's very for the actors to talk to them. Overall it has been a very good experience working with them.

Richa Rathore: Gratitude is all that I have. I am overwhelmed, and I just want to thank each and everyone who is a part of this beautiful show. We all have been working so hard and today on the completion of 100 episodes I feel so fortunate to have got this amazing opportunity. This wouldn’t have been possible without the love of the viewers and our fans who have showered us with so much love and give us the energy to move forward at all times. Working with Sonali ma’am and Amir Sir is like working with family. They both have been nothing but kind and supportive. They care for us as their own and you can talk to them about anything and also they are the coolest producers. We party together whenever we get a chance to. I am so glad that it is with them that my journey as a protagonist of a show began.

Pankit Thakker: It feels so great to be a part of such a well written show, the 100 episodes have gone by breezily, as a team, the cast and the crew are so good that there is a strong possibility we might go on to add one more zero to 100 and very soon we will celebrate 1000 episodes too. Under the leadership of Sonali and Amir, we know that we are in great hands, as an artist as well as an individual. The best thing about working under Sonali and Amir is that they are people with a big heart and they are people who are progressive and modify their strategies as per the need of the situation. They are one of those few producers who believe that content is the king and they stay true and loyal to their story and characters.

Saee Barve: So happy and grateful that we have completed a century. It's been a fun journey. The best thing about Sonali ma'am and Amir sir is that they are professional yet humble people, who are in search of excellence. On the very first meet, within a few minutes I felt like I am on the same page. I feel grateful to be a part of Full House Media production.

Revati Lele: It feels great. We as a team have reached to a 100 episode milestone and may this show do much bigger things in future. Working with Sonali ma'am and Amir sir is a bliss. I am grateful to be working with Full House Media. They treat us as their own family.

Bharat Pahuja: I feel euphoric. This is like a dream come true for me and the team. Maybe when you ask me how will I feel when we complete 1000 episodes, and I hope I will find better words by then. I'm truly grateful to our audience for getting us at 100 episodes and I know we will cross 1000+ episodes because of their love. Sonali and Amir are family. They are truly amazing, and how they prioritise everyone is just amazing. My heart is full of gratitude and love for them.

Purvi Vyas: It's a wonderful feeling. We created some wonderful memories and got a new family. Working with Full House Media has been a mind-blowing experience and they treat artist like family members, and I feel very comfortable.

Milloni Kapadia: It is a very overwhelming and beautiful feeling.100 episodes is not just about a number, it is about the journey we've lived during this time as these characters and with each other as a team. Everyone has put in their best, the entire team and the whole crew. I feel very grateful to be a part of this family and can't thank the audience enough for their love. May we continue to receive the love and support of our audience. When you work day and night on a project it is very important to have a comfort level with the team. Right from the beginning of the show, Sonali ma'am and Amir sir have been like our pillars and not just formally as our producers but genuinely as a family. This matters to me the most. Most importantly, the belief that the team of Full House Media had in me to play this part was such an encouragement. I am and will be forever grateful for their trust in me.

Abhishek Verma: It feels great. Being appreciated is always a good feeling. Our hard work is paying off and of course we have a long way to go, I hope we can live upto people’s expectations for a long long time. I’ve known Sonali ma’am since 'Ye Hai Mohabbatein' days and I know the kind of hard work ma’am puts in her work. Working with full house media has been a wonderful experience, not only Sonali ma’am but even Amir sir is very supportive, he’s always like I’m just one phone call away for anything.
Saurabh Agarwal: Wow, it feels so good. We had a puja on set and then a script briefing with our producers. It has been a fun journey, and frankly I was destined to be part of this show. It always feels like at home far from home.

“After my last show, I now want to be a part of something very different. Portraying serious and charming characters are on my wish list. Being able to play a character that is good, rugged, intense… all in one, a character that has many shades would definitely be my dream role,” says the actor, who is in talks for a few things.

He is very particular about what work he picks up. “I cannot compromise when it’s comes to my work. So yes I choose my script wisely, only when I get the good vibe, like the story and the character that I say yes to the project,” he explains.

Not just about his roles, Prateik is also particular about his style. “I just feel one should be comfortable with whatever they are wearing. If you’re comfortable, everything looks good on you. And of course smelling good and maintaining hygiene and cleanliness are the major factors one should never miss,” he adds.

During his modelling days, the actor learnt a lot about fashion. He was new into the field when he decided to move to acting. And his last experience has helped him in maintaining himself well.

“I do get compliments for my hair style. I like keeping my hair a little raw and casual because I think it really suits me and people like it,” he says.

About outfits and accessories from his wardrobe that he absolutely loves, Prateik adds, “Zara white shirt , Zara black shirt, Zara leather jacket, Zara jeans and of course Zara perfumes and accessories. I have always been supportive of the LGBTQ community: Hasan Zaidi

ith the pride month, which is celebrated for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community, coming to an end, actor Hasan Zaidi, who will soon be seen as the lead in "Zindagi Mere Ghar Aana", shared that he came to know about the community a long time back. He further said, "I have always been supportive of this aspect of humanity."

"Indian society has evolved as far as acknowledging the LGBTQ community is concerned. With so much happening on our OTT platform, news coming from all over the world about laws being passed in favour of them in different countries and  been withdrawn and then being passed again depending upon the kind of government that comes in power, people have come to know more about them. But having said I would like to mention that the LGBTQ community has suffered a lot, some of the nations have done a good job and I think we should take a lead from them. In India, there are people who understand and accept them, but there is still not 100% knowledge of it," he added.

Hasan shared that he has friends who are gay and talking about them, he said, "Some are open about it, some are not, some have really suffered, some have really stood for themselves and people around them have also stood for them and they have come out in the open and living beautiful lives, although they still have their struggles, depending upon where they are living."

On same sex marriage still being illegal in India, he said, "That could be because of general biases, that could be because of people just not accepting it at all, and obviously there is a lot of social pressure. I sometimes feel that even if someone is in the LGBTQ community or relates to them, they would never openly talk about it or share because of the horror that they have seen by people from their community go through after they came out of the closet. Some of them are still living in a cocoon. So yes, all the celebration they're making is good, it's very encouraging, but there's still a very long way to go."

A message to the LGBTQ community and your fans? "My message to my fans is that that, love, live, and let love and live, there is so much that one can achieve with that. And to my friends and fans in the LGBTQ community, believe in yourself, there will be a small period where you need to be brave, but in the long run you'll be happy. So stand up for yourself, I know it's hard. You'll find people who will back you, and you'll find people who love you and stand by you, and that is your right," Hasan concl

Abhishek Verma: We were enjoying outdoor shoot but nothing can match shooting in Mumbai, very happy to be back in the city

Abhishek Verma is all relaxed and happy to be shooting in Mumbai again. The actor, who plays the role of Shobit in Sonali Jaffar and Amir Jaffar’s Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha, shares that there is a sense of peace and security when one get back home amid these trying times. As soon as lockdown was announced in Mumbai due to the surge in Covid cases during the second wave, the cast and crew of many Hindi daily soaps were moved to Goa, Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli  for over two months. With things getting back to normal, the state government has allowed shooting to begin in the city following proper SOPs. This decision saw many makers coming back to their sets in Mumbai.

“The pandemic has affected everyone’s mental health. In such times, staying close to our loved ones matters most. But yes, shooting outside Mumbai was fun too. Given that we are not allowed to travel much, an outdoor shoot is heaven. So, the change was good. But we were shooting most of the time. Also, for safety reasons exploring any other area outside the resort was not an option. So, we chose to refrain ourselves from stepping out unnecessarily and were happy to stay together. Our bond became stronger. We ate together, sat for hours to talk and chilled together. But we were missing home. Also, Mumbai is Mumbai. It’s been my home for many years now. Just not being in the city made me homesick,” he says.

The show introduced new twists and turns to keep audiences entertained and also to match up with the shift in location. “We are very happy and lucky that our work is being appreciated and the audiences adapted to the change. These times are tough, it’s risky to go out and work no matter what profession you belong to. I’m just very happy that we don't back out or compromise on anything in terms of our script. We made sure we took 100% safety precautions and we made sure we gave our work 100% and I guess the audience did appreciate it,” he says.

Praising the producers for keeping no stone unturned to ensure their safety and for smooth functioning, the actor adds, “Our producers (Sonali and Amir Jaffar) were extremely vigilant. They made sure everyone was tested from time to time. All the precautions were taken. They even made sure not just the actors but everyone from the team whether makeup, costume, light dept, everyone was vaccinated. I also want to say not just outdoors, even now that we’re back, it’s mandatory that we are tested from time to time and they make sure everyone’s in the best of heal

FNP Media’s new short film Saat Tareekh featuring Aishwarya Narkar is creating waves!

FNP Media’s new short film Saat Tareekh" features Aashay Srivastava and Aishwarya Narkar released on 25th June. It has a very strong message for the society. Speaking about her role Aishwarya says, "When the director of the film Kartik Singh met me and gave me a narration of Saat Tareekh, I knew that this is an usual story and needs to be said. In India rape is a very serious issue and we should all do something. All the time we only talk about it. Through Saat Tareekh we are trying to say a mother is someone who teaches her family and also makes our society aware of many things. So when a son commits a crime, a mother should always take the right step to punish him.”

While speaking about her preparation Aishwarya says,”The way Kartik has written the script, the character graph is very accurate as an actor I just needed to think about it and deliver my lines. The thoughts of a mother expressed here is so powerful that I could easily connect. Apart from my director I would also thank the DOP, the way our emotions has been captured on camera is just too good. I remember when I was about to start the shoot I just recovered from COVID so I was a bit worried about how I am going to manage. But thanks to our producers Aagaaz Entertainment and FNP media, our set was nicely organised I felt very secured.”

Speaking about her career path Aishwarya says,”I have mostly done regional work in Marathi and also some in Hindi. I personally feel an artist's work should not be restricted due to language. The message and the entertainment part should reach the audience irrespective of language. When cinema started, the basic idea was to educate people, tell them what is wrong, what is right. So I feel I would like to be associated with a show in which I can convey a message to our society and also entertain viewers. I am happy that Saat Tareekh is a project which has a huge significance of what’s wrong in our society.”

Sonali Jaffar's show lead of Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha talks about the shoot!

Richa Rathore is happy to be shooting in Mumbai again. She plays the lead role in Sonali Jafar and Amir Jafar’s ongoing TV show Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha. The show was shot in Goa and Gujarat for over two months since lockdown in Mumbai was announced in April given the surge of Covid cases. Now with things under control and the state government allowing permission to shoot in the city following SOPs, most of the TV shows that were shooting are back to the city.

“It’s a pleasant feeling. A certain familiarity always gives a sense of calmness and peace. I am happy to be back in Mumbai. I won’t deny that shooting out of Mumbai was a good change for all of us. We got an opportunity to engage more with each other and our bonds became stronger, which is an important aspect of working together,” she says.

Speaking more about what she enjoyed the most while shooting outdoors, the actor adds, “I enjoyed how the physical setting changed and it was sort of a process to fit into a different locality. My family doesn’t stay in Mumbai so the only thing I missed was the comfort of my home and the auto rides in the city.”

Richa is thankful to the team, especially the producers, who left no stones unturned for the safety and comfort of their actors, amid this crisis. “I feel extremely grateful to be a part of a production house that continued its work outside Mumbai ensuring safety of every individual associated with it. They arranged all the required resources in time enabling us to work without worries. They have done an amazing job,” she showers more praises.

Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha introduced twists and turns to keep audiences entertained, which was quite a task amid the pandemic. Calling it a part of the process, she says, “If the audience is enjoying it, then how can I not feel happy? I hope we are able to entertain people and help in easing their fear and anxiety in such times.”

Ashish Kapoor on resuming shoot in Mumbai: After a good two months we’re back to our set, home, bed and of course home cooked food

Ashish Kapoor feels good to come back home and shoot in Mumbai again. The actor plays the role of Adarsh in Rajan Shahi’s Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya 2. After lockdown was announced in Mumbai during the second wave of Covid-19 in April, cast and crew of Hindi TV shows moved base to Goa, Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Now that things have started opening up, they are back to the city again as the state government has allowed shooting to resume in Mumbai following strict SOPs.

“After a good two months, we are back to our set, home, bed and of course home cooked food. What can be better than that?” says the actor.

However, he also admits that shooting out of Mumbai was a good change. “It was quite an experience because we all stayed there for two months and it’s quite different from what you expect. We would get ready in our rooms and then step out to shoot in and around the same resort. Then we ate our food together that was of course provided by the resort and could sit for long hours and talk. Since no one was travelling back and forth, we had more time at hand to work,” he adds.

He remembers the open space in the resort, where he could go for walks, eating Oreo biscuits and feeding and playing with rabbits. For him, the location was no less dreamy.

Ashish is happy that amid all these the show could entertain the viewers. In fact, the new twists and turns are also getting much attention. “The interesting part was we were bound to write the story according to the location so that was challenging but then things fell into place because of the viewer's support. Now, the current track is where Pratigya comes home and there is a face-to-face between her and Meera is also very interesting given the tension between them. Komal is finally back and therefore her track with Adarsh is also going strong,” he adds.

The actor also is thankful to the producer for taking care of their needs. “All the needed precautions of Covid were followed. We were tested and after reports came out then only we went ahead with the shoot and it was a bio-bubble setup so nobody was allowed to meet anyone except for people from the team in the resort and even outside,” he shares.

Milloni Kapadia feels great to be back in Mumbai: Shooting away from the city was like a workcation for me

Coming back to home in Mumbai and shooting in the city is the best feeling, says Milloni Kapadia. The actor portrays the character of Gunn in Sonali Jaffar and Amir Jaffar’s hit TV show Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha. During the second Covid wave in India in April, when Mumbai went to lockdown due to the surge in Covid cases and many shows shifted to Goa, Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli for over two months. With the spread under control, and the state government permitting shoot in the city following strict protocols, all the TV shows are back.

“There is no better place than home and especially after spending so much time with my parents during the lockdown, suddenly having to go out for such a long outdoor schedule was a roller-coaster of emotions. So it feels great to be back,” she says adding that the good thing about staying with the team together is that they got a lot of time to know each other better.

“In such challenging times where everyone was working from home, getting an opportunity to travel and shoot at such beautiful locations was genuinely nothing less than a blessing. It was so rejuvenating, it didn’t feel like work at times. I am a beach person so the Goa shoots were amazing. After pack-up I would always hit the beach and spend some time there and secretly wished my family was with me. I would rather call it a workcation. We had a lot of fun. We all have become really good friends as we now understand each other better. Spending time together between and post shoots has certainly strengthened our bond off-screen,” she says.

The show introduced twists and turns given the shift in location and it seems that the audience enjoyed the new experience. “That is so true. It was a concern for all of us but the writing team of our show has really worked it out everything quite well. They have made it all so believable that despite the too many new elements and location change due to the unfortunate COVID situation, it all looked natural and hence it was received well. In fact, the new track is interesting too. We all know how much Darsh and Nandini love each other and how Shobhit is trying hard to break them up using Ritesh as the pawn. There is so much more coming up but I can't talk much about it right now,” she adds.

The actor heaps praises on the producers who left no stones unturned for the safety and comfort of the team. “Honestly our producers Amir sir and Sonali ma'am have been the nicest people to work with. They have always been there for us at every step and ensure that we all feel comfortable and safe at work. They're so sweet and considerate that they've always been in touch and asked if everything is going fine. I feel blessed having them around and couldn’t have asked for anything more,” she ends.

Vaidika Senjaliya missed the Mumbai rains while shooting outdoor

Vaidika Senjaliya, who is seen in Sonali and Amir Jaffar's "Tujhse Hai Raabta", is happy to be back in Mumbai. After the Maharashtra government announced a lockdown in the state in April, a lot of TV shows moved out of the region, but now that the government has lifted shooting restrictions, they are back in Mumbai. The actress confessed that though shooting outdoor seemed like bliss initially, after a while she started missing Mumbai.

"It is so good to be back in Mumbai. When we started shooting out of Mumbai, I was really excited that we're going for outdoor shooting. New location, new set up, so everything was very exciting and it was fun initially but somehow we all were missing Mumbai. The hotel in which we were staying was very nice, and comfortable. We had our pick up and drop cars and as soon as we wrapped up for the day, it would take us back to our hotel. We all then used to meet in someone's room and we would talk till late at night," she said.

"So I think I have bonded very well with my team because of it. I'm very grateful that I got a chance to go for an outdoor shoot, because if we were in Mumbai, things would have been different, like after pack up we would go back to our respective homes. Shooting outdoor was so positive and refreshing, and we enjoyed a lot, but yes at the end of the day we missed home. Also, in Gujarat rains started late so we were missing Mumbai rains so much. It is so good to be back, and we're back to routine now," she added.

Praising the producer couple for taking care of them so well during the outdoor, Vaidika said, "Our production house is the best, everyone was behaving so responsibly, they used to wear masks, sanitization, and social distancing was maintained. Suppose we are shooting in one room, then they used to make sure that there are no extras in that room. They trained the team so well that even though we shot outdoors for such a long time touchwood nobody's health was affected nor did anyone get COVID symptoms. So the production house took great care not just while shooting but post shooting too. It was an amazing experience."

Vivian Dsena turned a year older on Monday (June 28). The handsome actor shared that he will have a low-key celebration and might even cook something special for himself on his big day.

He said, "I am not a party animal. Birthday is a peaceful time. I am a foodie and will enjoy the scrumptious homemade food. I may even cook something special, you never know. The actor, who was last seen in "Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki", also revealed his fondest birthday memory and said, "It was when I got a pet dog from my father, I think I was 6-7 years old. I just loved my dog Jimmy, I was very close to him. The memory still brings a twinkle in my eyes. We all grow up but memories remain."

Though the actor believes in keeping a low profile, he has time and again spoken about following the safety protocols during the pandemic and urged his fans yet again to be optimistic and take proper precautions.

"I request everyone to follow the protocols and am sure pandemic too will pass. Time will not remain the same. We all have to live life carefully. It is nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice," Vivian concluded.

India's first transgender model Nikkiey Chawla: In 2015, I was about 90 kgs, and life felt meaningless till I decided to not give up

Life has never been short of a roller coaster ride for India’s first transgender model Nikkiey Chawla. From being born as a boy to realizing that he is actually a female trapped in a male body, fighting family and society, sex change operation to making name as a model, actor and make-up artiste, Chawla faced challenges at every crossroad. Not the one to give up, she always fought hard and has been successful. Now she wants to fulfil her “dreams of being known as a good actor and make good films, TV shows and web series”.

Looking back she remembers how when she was in 5th or 6th standard, she was a good dancer and people would tell my parents that God has made me a boy by mistake, she should have been a girl.

“At that time everyone would laugh about it but when I started growing up my parents started feeling bad… My father was a banker and my mother is a well-known cosmetologist. My childhood was amazing. I was a good dancer, acted in many school plays and was quite known in my city. People used to call me Govinda and Madhuri Dixit [Nene] of our city… But then I always wanted to be a girl. Later, I got to know from someone that something like a sex-change operation exists but being young I still didn’t have a clue of what struggles I will have to face if I decide to take that route to become the girl I always wanted to be,” says Chawla, who hails from Punjab and finished her further studies in Delhi.

It was in Delhi where she consulted doctors. Thankfully Chawla did her research before taking the plunge in 2006. The first step was to consult two psychiatrists, who would understand if she is ready and prepared her for the process.

“I still remember the first day when I wore bra, it felt awkward, but as I continued I slowly became comfortable… Many friends, relatives even after a point my family stopped talking to me. As the final days approached my family came back to me. The surgery took place on October 21, 2009. The real struggle started afterward when I had to change the legal documents,” she shares.

Talking about her mental and physical struggle along with dealing with society, Chawla adds, “Dealing with society was the toughest. Back in Punjab people starting talking about me negatively but slowly when I started doing well their rudeness, perception and perspective changed. Society is being made by us and we can only be the change... As I said post-surgery is the real struggle. Being a woman now, everything feels different… Depression is very common during this phase and I have been through it for four years. In 2014, I was about 90 kgs and life felt meaningless till I decided to not give up.”

Chawla, who is a successful model and has done shows like MTV crunch, Emotional Atyachar, Ace of Space as a celebrity, now wants to concentrate on acting assignments too.

“After doing the short film Qaid I realised that acting is something I want to pursue, so I am concentrating on that. I missed out working on Kaalakaandi and Made in Heaven 2. I really want to work with Ekta Kapoor ma’am,” she ends.

Tassnim Sheikh: I shot for only two weeks away from Mumbai, so it was a much-needed break for me

assnim Sheikh enjoyed shooting away from Mumbai for Rajan Shahi’s Anupamaa. Well, that’s simply because she was only away from home for two weeks. Anupamaa, like other Hindi TV shows Silvassa for over two months since lockdown was announced in Mumbai in April given the surge of Covid cases. With things looking up and the state government granting permission to shoot in the city, all these shows are back to shooting in Mumbai following strict SOPs.

“For me it was kind of a break also because I have just been at home for a long time. So going to Silvassa and shooting there in a resort with greenery all around, I could unwind, breathe some fresh air. I took it as a break and my family also wanted me to go shoot, relax and come back stress-free. I really enjoyed shooting outdoors. Being in the lap of nature was amazing, at times I wished my family was there with me. It feels great being back home, the love and the warmth, the hugs and kisses that I missed in Silvassa for 15 days so I was actually happy being backed home to my loved ones. I was also missing the sets of Anupamaa, especially our dogs on the sets,” she says.

This time also helped the actor interact with her co-stars a lot more than usual and helped her in knowing them better. “The actors and unit had more time with each other and it was definitely amazing. It was a beautiful atmosphere out there, we had so much fun. The bond only grew stronger,” adds the actor, who has been working in the industry for over two decades now.

Given the change in location, the show introduced new twists and turns in the plot to keep the audience engaged. “I am glad that audiences have loved it and are still enjoying the show. Anupamaa is a different kind of a show altogether. For a reason it has developed a strong bond with the audience. We, as a team, are always ready to entertain our viewers and are indebted for their love and support,” she says.

Talking about the current track of the show that shows Kavya and Anupamaa are residing in the same house, she adds, “There are bound to be issues when they are together. So the track is very realistic, the dialogues and performances are good too. Right now Rakhi Dave is stressed and concerned about her daughter’s happiness, career and well being like any mother. I find this track quite relatable.”

Tassnim thanks the producer of the show for leaving no stone unturned to take care of the team. “He did his best to make his actors comfortable in the outdoor shoot. He gave us the best facilities, room, food... We were like one big family and because of this oneness I believe the show is doing so well. DKP team rocks and I wish them the best always,” she signs off.
