"Mannat's Extra-Marital Affair Storyline Sparks Fan Debate"

The TV show Mannat – Har Khushi Paane Ki has sparked controversy among fans for its portrayal of extra-marital affairs, particularly involving the characters Mannat (played by Ayesha Singh) and Vikrant (played by Adnan Khan). Fans have expressed concerns that the romantic scenes between Mannat and Vikrant, who is legally married to Mallika, promote extra-marital affairs and harm the moral fabric of society. They’ve urged the show’s creator, Mukta Dhond, to tone down these scenes, arguing they tarnish Mannat’s character.

Mukta Dhond defended Mannat, stating that Vikrant, as the married party, bears the responsibility, not Mannat, who is single and aware of the truth behind Vikrant’s fraudulent marriage to Mallika. Dhond argued that blaming Mannat reflects societal bias against women. However, some fans remain unconvinced, feeling both parties in such relationships share responsibility, and some called Mannat’s continued romantic involvement “cringe” and lacking self-respect. Others are thrilled by the chemistry between Mannat and Vikrant, eagerly awaiting their reunion, though they acknowledge the show needs stronger twists to compete with rivals like Anupama. The debate mirrors broader criticism of Indian TV shows, with some accusing them of glamorizing extra-marital affairs and eroding cultural values.
