Festive sequences in TV shows always generate curiosity, says Nishant Malkani. The Rakshabandhan... Rasal Apne Bhai Ki Dhal actor shares that such special episodes garner TRPs as well.  “The reason they are popular because people like to see happy moments, glamour, and their favourite television families celebrating different festivals. So yes, I feel people are always looking forward to see such sequences because they want everything to look beautiful, prettier and shinier. Also, during these sequences there is a high point as people look forward to such drama also,” he says.

Such sequences also have a lot of singing and dancing. “That adds to the “masala” of the show and the story. These dance sequences also have lots of other actors from different shows usually coming for the maha-episode or maha-sangram and that brings a lot of audiences together. People love to see how their favourite characters from different shows interact with each other and how their chemistry looks,” explains the actor.

Talking about TRPs and more, Nishant adds further, “During these glamorous events like festivals, shaadis, sagai… TRP do go up because such sequences also have visual value. Adding to that there is this interesting twist in the plot. Also, say if the show is about a Gujarati family then while Gujaratis would enjoy watching this show, others also get to know more about the culture. So it also does provide a lot of knowledge and education to different set of people about different festivals. So, I feel all these things combined help TV shows create a lot of buzz and interest.”
