Producer Yash Patnaik's new show "Rakshabandhan: Rasaal Apne Bhai Ki Dhaal" went on-air on July 19. The show is being produced under his banner Beyond Dreams Entertainment, and he says the response so far has been satisfying.
"People find the concept and characters very refreshing. Both the kids Hardika (Rasaal) and Azynkya (Shivraj) have been appreciated a lot," he said. The show is based in Rajasthan, and Yash revealed that the background plays an important role in setting up the story. "It helps us develop an interesting backdrop with authentic cultural and linguistic flavours. It also lends a lot to the characters and their inherent conflicts," he added. "Rakshabandhan: Rasaal Apne Bhai Ki Dhaal" also features Nishant Singh Malkhani and Nyra Banerjee in pivotal roles. Heaping praise on the duo, Yash said, "As the show is for Dangal, we wanted to create an impact with the casting. Nishant has been a revelation as Umedh Singh. It's a major makeover for him in terms of look as well character. He has worked very hard. Same goes with Nyra Bannerjee who is playing Chakori." "She is so different in person than what Chakori stands for. You will see her in many looks as she is playing a bahurupiya. She is magic on screen. When we were doing the outdoor shoot in Gujarat-Rajasthan border, on day one when she emerged on the set with the look of an old lady, even the cast and crew didn't recognise it was Nyra. Both of them are very dedicated actors and super fun to work with," he added. Yash runs the production house along with his wife Mamta Patnaik, and they recently launched the third season of their popular franchise "Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi". Asked how they are managing two shows, he said, "This is a job we have been doing for years. In the last 14 years we have produced over 40 projects, which is 2-3 projects at a time. When you are passionate about your work, things fall into place." "We are blessed with great teams of writers, creatives, production and operation. Most of them have been working with us for years which makes it easier," he concluded.
