Kajol became my inspiration for this character,” reveals Mansi Srivastava on her current role in Kundali Bhagya

Since its very first episode, Zee TV’s popular fiction showKundali Bhagya has been an audience favourite. Its intriguing plot and relatable characters like Karan (Dheeraj Dhoopar) and Preeta (Shraddha Arya) have kept the viewers at the edge of their seats over the past few years. In fact, #PreeRan, as they are fondly called, have managed to capture everyone's hearts with their adorable chemistry and heart-warming love story. Even the secondary characters of the show, be it Shrishti, Sameer, Prithvi or the even the newest member of the family - Mansi Srivastava, have managed to entertain the audience with their stellar act. In fact, Mansi’s recent entry as Sonakshi has indeed spruced by the drama and brought various interesting twists to the storyline. While Mansi continues to entertain the viewers, the actress recently opened up about the real inspiration behind her popular Kundali Bhagya character.

While speaking about how she prepped for Sonakshi’s role, Mansi mentioned that her character shares a close resemblance to Anjali from the film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and that’s how she began seeking inspiration from Kajol’s performance in the movie. Revealing more, Mansi mentioned, “Initially, I was briefed about the character by the creative head of the show - Mukta Ma'am and she is someone who knows exactly what she wants from a character. After getting a brief about the role, I realised that it’s a character very similar to Kajol's character of Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Sonakshi's tomboy nature and personality is just like Anjali, when she was in college with Rahul. She was a tomboy in the beginning, but now she dresses in a very feminine way, which I thought is very cute. Immediately after noticing the resemblance, Kajol became my inspiration for this character and even though I have seen Kuch Kuch Hota Hai several times, I decided to see the movie once again, but this time from an artist’s point of view. I realised then that this character is very real to me and is almost a part of me, who loves making friends and is very bubbly in nature.

Well, it looks like Kajol has helped Mansi for her part in Kundali  Bhagya, but her character, Sonakshi, is having a hard time in gaining the Luthra family’s trust after the recent revelations in the show. While she has returned to the house again, will she find a friend in Karan and Preeta again?

To know more, stay tuned to Kundali Bhagya every Monday to Friday at 9:30 pm, only on Zee TV
