Pooja Gor and Arhaan Behll-starrer "Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya", the first season, went off-air in 2012 after a successful run of almost three years. The show kept trending on and off on social media websites for nearly nine years and the makers had to come back with a season two. Titled "Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya 2", the show is being produced under Rajan Shahi's banner Director's Kut Productions, and Pearl Grey is heading the show as the showrunner, creative producer, and writer.
The ongoing season shocked the audience after Krishna lost his memory and did not remember Pratigya at all. But Pratigya did not lose hope and enacted their love story on his birthday which reminded Krishna of his past.
Talking about it, Pearl said, "We wanted to give a shocker to viewers with what will happen if Krishna forgets Pratigya, something which they had never seen in Pratigya 1 and 2. Krishna always loved Pratigya and never wanted to stay away from her but after the accident, he lost all memory of Pratigya and his past life. But when he got his memory back, he realised his biggest enemy is none other than his family who conspired against him and took advantage of his memory loss."
"Pratigya has a loyal audience and strangely they expect what they saw in the first season only. We aim to keep the loyal viewers of Pratigya happy," she added.
Pearl shared that a twist is brought in a daily soap to engage the audience, but confessed that sometimes it backfires too.
"Any kind of the change in story sometimes is accepted and sometimes rejected but then unless we experiment how will we know what they are liking or rejecting. I believe in telling the story I believe in, but honestly, sometimes the pressure of TRP does make us experiment with the classic, cliche or gimmicky twists. Sometimes it works and sometimes it backfires. There is no formula. So I rather prefer going by conviction," she said.
She also opened up about the shooting restrictions that were imposed in Maharashtra back in April. The show had to move near Gujarat to continue shooting, and they came back to the state in June after the restrictions were lifted.
Pearl said, "It was definitely tough times for everyone. But then we believe that the show must go on and as creators we need to continue creating in any given circumstances. It was challenging but fun."
