Actress Madalsa Sharma who is playing Kavya in Rajan Shahi’ popular show Anupamaa was pleasantly surprised when her father in law actor Mithun Chakraborty came to her set. Madalsa is married to Mithun’s son Mimoh. Mithun Da as he is fondly called was shooting for a film in the vicinity paid a surprise visit to set. Throwing more light on the incident Madalsa says,”It was such a pleasant surprise from Mithun dad, I was so happy to see him. The whole cast was happy to see the legend and we all have clicked pictures with him. The whole atmosphere was magical. Dad also sat and spoke to everyone about the show. He also expressed his positive views on my performance and also praised Rajan Shahi Sir for making a show like this. It’s an amazing feeling, when dad came on my set and blessed all of us.” She also adds,”In fact my mother in law Yogita Bali is s loyal audience of the show. She watches all the episodes.” The show has been number 1 across all channels in TRP ratings. Sudhanshu Pandey, Rupali Ganguly, Tassnim Sheikh, Nidhi Shah, Muskaan Bamne, Paras Kalnawat, Alpana Buch and Arvind Vaidya were also present on the set.

Tassnim Sheikh enjoyed shooting away from Mumbai for Rajan Shahi’s Anupamaa. Well, that’s simply because she was only away from home for two weeks. Anupamaa, like other Hindi TV shows Silvassa for over two months since lockdown was announced in Mumbai in April given the surge of Covid cases. With things looking up and the state government granting permission to shoot in the city, all these shows are back to shooting in Mumbai following strict SOPs.

“For me it was kind of a break also because I have just been at home for a long time. So going to Silvassa and shooting there in a resort with greenery all around, I could unwind, breathe some fresh air. I took it as a break and my family also wanted me to go shoot, relax and come back stress-free. I really enjoyed shooting outdoors. Being in the lap of nature was amazing, at times I wished my family was there with me. It feels great being back home, the love and the warmth, the hugs and kisses that I missed in Silvassa for 15 days so I was actually happy being backed home to my loved ones. I was also missing the sets of Anupamaa, especially our dogs on the sets,” she says.

This time also helped the actor interact with her co-stars a lot more than usual and helped her in knowing them better. “The actors and unit had more time with each other and it was definitely amazing. It was a beautiful atmosphere out there, we had so much fun. The bond only grew stronger,” adds the actor, who has been working in the industry for over two decades now.
Given the change in location, the show introduced new twists and turns in the plot to keep the audience engaged. “I am glad that audiences have loved it and are still enjoying the show. Anupamaa is a different kind of a show altogether. For a reason it has developed a strong bond with the audience. We, as a team, are always ready to entertain our viewers and are indebted for their love and support,” she says.

Talking about the current track of the show that shows Kavya and Anupamaa are residing in the same house, she adds, “There are bound to be issues when they are together. So the track is very realistic, the dialogues and performances are good too. Right now Rakhi Dave is stressed and concerned about her daughter’s happiness, career and well being like any mother. I find this track quite relatable.”

Tassnim thanks the producer of the show for leaving no stone unturned to take care of the team. “He did his best to make his actors comfortable in the outdoor shoot. He gave us the best facilities, room, food... We were like one big family and because of this oneness I believe the show is doing so well. DKP team rocks and I wish them the best always,” she signs off.

Rohitashv Gour: Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! allows me the opportunity to play varied roles and explore my craft more

Rohitashv Gour is not just playing Manmohan Tiwari but also a variety of characters in Binaiferr Kohli and Sanjay Kohli’s popular sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! The actor is content with the kind of variety he is able to explore on the show and feels this is only helping him in nurturing his craft.

“Getting to play a wide variety of roles is a very good thing for an actor. Sometimes I used to wonder why I am not doing films or web shows that allows you to do much more. But then when I get such opportunities that allow me in to explore a varied range of characters and I have the freedom to add my own to my roles then I don’t feel bad anymore. Rather, I feel proud. Thankfully, I don’t have to deal with the monotony of playing one single character for years unlike what happens in a daily soap,” he says.

Recently, the actor played the parts of Anthony and Lalila. Sharing the experience, he adds, “I loved playing Anthony because he is completely different from Tiwari ji. He accented English is funny and nothing like Tiwari ji’s UP style of speaking. Laila was also an interesting character. Sporting that mustache and delivering those dialogues and gestures was a different experience. His comic timing is also good. I totally enjoyed portraying both these roles.”

Rohitashv is satisfied with his journey so far and feels there is much for him to achieve in coming times. He wishes to be a part of web series’ and films. But whatever he does, he won’t stop doing TV.

Coming back to Bhabiji…, the actor talks about working with Shubhangi Atre, who is paired opposite him on the show. “We share good chemistry. She is not just a good actor but her command over the language is excellent. She speaks Bhojpuri so well. I was quite relieved to have her,” he says. He further ads, "Binaiferr Kohli  is a very good producer and I feel at home as I have been part of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai since its inception.

Director Ashish Shrivastav: It’s alright if intimate scenes are shown given the demand of the story, but if it’s forcefully put then that’s indecent

The pandemic has acted as a boon for the OTT. The space flourishing with quality content has got many takers, feels director Ashish Shrivastav.

“I think OTT actors are stars in their own way because when you choose what you want to watch on OTT platform one criteria that one looks for is the cast in the series of film. So we can’t say they are anything less than stars. In fact their reach is much more because these OTT platforms are watched worldwide and with their brilliant performances they are connecting with the audience everywhere,” says the director of TV shows, Shaadi Mubarak, Yeh Rishte Hai Pyar Ke, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Ishq Subhan Allah, Piya Albela, Kahani Ghar Ghar ki and many more.

The OTT censorship works in a different way. There are separate content for adults and children and the latter needs to watch thing under parental guidance. Many are of the opinion that OTT takes the liberty by showing a lot of bold scenes, usage of cuss words, etc.

“If there is a demand of the story and that too organically it is needed then that’s alright but if you are forcefully putting such scenes or incidence just to make an attractive package deal then it's indecent. I don’t think such wrong things work out in the long run,” he adds.

Ashish prefers watching real life stories and narratives with messages on OTT. He is also fond of emotional shows that are high on family values. “I liked Gulak, Delhi Crime, Patalok, Panchayat etc. I would like to direct such content in future on OTT,” he concludes.

There is so much to see in India and I urge all Indians to first travel within India: Aneesha Madhok

ctress Aneesha Madhok, who will soon be seen in Hollywood film "Bully High", feels lucky that because of her father Vikram Madhok, who runs Abercrombie & Kent, a luxury travel company, she was able to see the whole of India. Upset with the ongoing pandemic, which has affected India's tourism industry badly, she has urged the citizens to take a tour within the country first before traveling abroad.

She said, "I am using my platform and influence to not only promote travelling in India but also to build a deeper connection with my homeland. As much as most Indians love fleeing to the UK during our hot Indian summers perhaps due to the remnants of colonialism, I am all for travelling within north of India to enjoy the cool breeze and the mountains in the summer and I love staying in the south during winter. There is so much to see in India and I urge all Indians to first travel within India before they book that ticket to travel outside of India. Like they say 'know yourself before you know someone else', similarly, I feel that we should connect with our roots before embracing other countries."

A fluent in seven languages - English, Farsi, Spanish, Hebrew, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi with a hint of Greek - Aneesha has traveled over 30 countries. But she said, "I am looking forward to seeing the economical boom India shall experience in terms of its hospitality and tourism."

"My father was behind the Incredible India campaign, and I want to propose the importance of being an ambassador for travel in India for generation z and I am really excited to explore my incredible India. Punjabi kudi is ready with her bag pack!" she concluded.

Her long hair have become short and platinum.  Shweta says, "Be it long or short, Amanda Carvalho has always styled my hair. This time was no exception. I had a pixie cut earlier, you can say that this is another pixie cut- which has made me go from Rapunzel to Bohemian. Waise bhi, more often, I have been a short-haired person."  Elaborating on the platinum look, Shweta reasoned, "We decided that we should experiment something. Aajkal waise bhi yeh platinum look is in. Arjun Rampal made headlines with his platinum hair and he was in a way an inspiration to experiment."  Sports nutritionist Kinita Kadakia contributed to Shweta's weight loss.

Shweta was last seen in  Bharat Dabholkar's play 'That's My Girl' which was a father-daughter story.   I was happy even when I was 82 kg, I am happy even now. But yes, I am really enjoying my new avatar. I remember Waheedaji (Rehman) coming to see 'That's My Girl' and asking Bharat sir ki yeh chhota patakha kahan se laya. I also had a very good time doing the short film 'Parineeti'." Shweta is very much single and focused on her work. If the buzz is to be believed she may soon be seen in a big project as an actor.
