Let's not take sides in the Pearl V Puri case

When no one knows the whole truth,  it is all the more important to speak out in a balanced manner without tarnishing any party's reputation.

Sadly, most celebrities have done just that and watching their icons talk a particular language. Their fans have crossed all lines of decency and are using obscene language against the poor seven-year-old victim; what is her fault.

Here I would like to thank noted  TV actor  Devoleena Bhattacharjee  for having stuck her neck out in the interests of fairness (pls see her tweets)

Something did happen on that fateful day. No wonder the cops have taken action. What was that I would not risk saying, as that is not my brief

Here the alleged offence is grave, so a prompt and impartial investigation is the need of the hour.   What makes the defence's job more tricky is that  POSCO  turns the old rule of innocent until proven guilty on its head.   Now the accused needs to prove that said sexual assault did not happen.

Here, the learned court also needs to ensure that women protection laws dont end up ruining a poor man's life, as unfortunately has happened off late.

Further, since the alleged victim is below 12, a new law (not sure if promulgated) calls for the death penalty for a convicted rapist.

It is tragic to see a young girl's reputation in tatter with both parents slugging it out in family court. The authorities should silently probe into the mother's severe allegations against the father( she says he is doing all this to get custody of the child). On the flip side, the father, too, should be allowed to have his say.  Whoever is lying should face stern prosecution.

The sad part is that many innuendos are flying around, which will eventually hurt the girl only when she grows up.

.

Also, it was pretty sad to see a recording of the mother's phone chat with a known tv producer leaked.  It was a private conversation that should not have been made public. Now the whole world knows who the mother is, which might harm the investigation.

Rrahul Sudhir's mom passes away to Covid complications.

Rrahul Sudhir's mom passes away to Covid complications.

We have often heard of covid claiming multiple lives in families. Unfortunately, Ishq Mein Marjawan, lead actor Rrahul Sudhir, faces a similar predicament; the poor guy was already reeling under the double whammy of losing his two uncles ( chacha and mama). Now comes the news he has also  lost his dear mother to the same dreaded coronavirus infection.

A source confirmed that 60 years Mrs Sunita Sudhir, a homemaker passed away last night in Dehradun after battling the virus for the last several days. Her lungs had failed.

The worst part was that Sunitaji did not suffer from any known comorbidities. Rrahul, who was with his mom at the end, is currently engaged in the last rites, added the source.

When asked about his mental state, the source stated that kindly let him deal with these significant losses privately. We don’t keep messaging him, understanding that he needs space. I would request fans to do the same.

This reporter  only sent a condolence message to Rrahul, which he acknowledged.

Rahul, who had earlier done several web series( Twisted and Maaya), finally found success with Ishq Mein Marjawan, which first aired on Colors before finding a home on Voot Select. Although this Beyond Dreams production co-starring Helly Shah and Vishal Vashishtha ( quit with season 2) has never got a considerable rating, it has made Rrahul a substantial social media name.

Ever since the news of Mrs Sudhir’s illness came out, his fans have been praying for her recovery; they even tried to get plasma for her , for which the producer Mamta Patnaik also thanked them. But alas, it did not bear fruit.

Rahrul’s insta post on the 10th was clear that all was not well.

Rrahul also had to stay from the show, which had shifted base to Siliguri due to Covid lockdown in Mumbai.

We pray to God to give Rrahul the strength to deal with this tragedy.

Versatile actor Neil Bhatt says, “It just feels like yesterday when we began shooting. I am glad that the show has completed 200 episodes. I am so happy. It is the number one show on TV at this point in time. We have a very good team and that is why we could achieve this number. As a team, we gel really well; infact recently we were discussing about us having completed 100 episodes and now we complete the 200th today. I think time just flies when you have the right kind of people to work with. This beautiful journey has given me a lot of special moments; the day I was signed to play Virat Chavan remains etched in my heart and there’s been no looking back ever since. I would like to thank Star Plus, Producers, and my Creative Team as they’ve shown immense faith in me as an actor. The show has challenged me and brought out the versatility in me as an actor. Not many artists get such a brilliant opportunity on the small screen. KSG's Dangerous, good stuff, but loses it way in the end.

The thriller genre best suits  Karan Singh Grower.  His  latest feature film Dangerous on  MX   Player,

could have been great offering.

In an attempt to stretch the thrill, one twist too many was added.  I  liked it until the last episode when everything went off-kilter. Also, in the climax scene, how come other cops did not turn up leaving  Bipasha  Basu to deal with the main villain.

Having said that the kidnapping story( Karan  wife played by  Sonali  Raut is kidnapped and ex-girl Bipasha investigates) was taut and edgy, I binged watched all seven episodes.  Full marks to the editors for  seamlessly  managing  to fuse a feature film into  7 episode series  (Producer  Mika  Singh had to release  Adat on  OTT due to  COVID) . Usually, things can go awry here.   Guess, the reduced length of each episode kept me glued on.

The best part what I liked was that no time was wasted, cutting to the chase So you did not get distracted, which generally occur in hour-long series.

I did guess the twist, but then that was bound to happen.

Had director Bhushan Patel . wanted they could have added a few more steamy scenes to the final film cut to appeal to the  OTT audience but glad they did not.

Karan is growing an actor, but  I guess he better stick to the thriller genre(  Alone and  Hate  Story3) which does not require weighty emotions.  Bips has done a swell job as always.

Feel bad for Suyyash  Rai for had Dangerous released on the big screen as initially planned as his negative role would have been sene in a different light.  But yes for sure his acting will be noticed.

Among the women, sadly  Natasha Suri(poor thing is down with  Covid-19) did not get much acting space, though her character was necessary. . Sonali   Raut was spot as the rich carefree women who crossed the line.

Shooting in London gave a different cinematographic feeling which did work.

Naagin 5 good start

After Naagin  4’s lacklustre performance, the task is cut out for  Ekta  Kapoor and her team to take the fifth instalment of this Colors snake women series to its former glory.

Honestly, when  I sat down to watch the season 5 premiere, I was unsure of what to expect as the past four seasons have already exhausted most naagin tropes.

But   I did enjoy the first episode.

To start with, I will not dwell on the what and why of fantasy, when you enjoy Game  Of   Throne why not desi folklore?

Season five has the element of past seasons.

Brinda’s( Nia  Sharma)  guy  Dev (Vijayendra Kumeria)  is on death bed, and she reaches an ancient mandir(temple)  hoping to save his life.

Entre baddies Vishaka(  Anita  Hassanandani) and Shalakha ( Rashami  Desai)  who want to bum off  Dev for his mani. ( Cant, the maker, conjure up a new prize).

Anita looks ravishing, sadly  Rashmi appeared a bit overweight.  Nia’s piping hot avatar continues.   Just one question should you wear a sexy outfit in a mandir?

To save Brinda, past naagins, Shesha( Adaa  Khan)  and   Bela/ Shravani  (Surbhi  Jyoti )  come back from the collapsed temple columns.

Good  CG has been used with naagins fighting each other and shapeshifting.

The girl twice  breaks into naagin dance . Sadly the choreography left much to be desired, and  Adaa looked bored.

Here a warning to season 5 males,  Mohit  Malhotra and   Dheeraj  Dhooper fans, your fav might not have much to do. Ask poor Vijayendra who hardy spoke one word in the season climax,  just playing dead .

After a brief battle, the baddies were taken out  ( slaying of the twin-headed  Bela was fun).

But with Dev still not breathing, naagins invoke Lord Shiva to resurrect the highest being in the naagin order. Adi naagin ( Hina  Khan) who alone can kiss  life into the dead.

For that, at first, she will have to tell her 10000-year-old curse story to  Brinda.

This period was before naagins got shapeshifting powers.  Adi naagin will have to relive her horror, so expect a time jump to present time and yes sexy naagins again turning human and viceversa

Million dollars looking   Hina will do justice to sultry snake women avatar.

It would be interesting to see how   Surbhi Chandna fits into the fantasy genre.  Till now, she has essayed realistic characters(   Ishqbaaz and Sanjeevni 2)  here; she will have to let her imagination run riot .  Her role will clash with  Adi  Naagin.

Expect a more glammy side of  Ms.  Chandna to come to the fore

We don’t want to say anything about the show’s chance as the story is yet to open.

But yes the task has been made more challenging with COVID   restrictions and possible budgetary slashes.

Adaa and  Surbi  Jyoti guest appearance was a smart ploy try to reconnect with previous season audiences. Maybe season 1 lead   Mouni should have taken the place of Adaa as season 2 was a damp squib.
