Colors TV’s Mannat – Har Khushi Paane Ki burst onto screens with a fiery promise of culinary charm and heart-tugging romance, only to fizzle out faster than a soggy soufflé. Launched on January 6, 2025, with Ayesha Singh and Adnan Khan as the magnetic Mannat and Vikrant, the show had fans buzzing with its fresh premise and emotional mother-daughter clashes. But the spark has dimmed, and the once-sizzling chemistry between the leads has left stans more meh than weak-kneed. So, what went wrong? Let’s dish on the reasons behind Mannat’s stumble and why its romance lost its zing.
First, Ayesha Singh’s portrayal of Mannat has drawn flak for being over-the-top. Fans on platforms like Reddit have called her performance “too loud” and likened her to an exaggerated Geet or Kajol, making the character feel more caricature than relatable. This overacting has overshadowed Adnan Khan’s more grounded Vikrant, throwing their chemistry off-kilter. While early scenes—like their cute meet-cute or Vikrant consoling Mannat during a storm—had hearts racing, the romance hasn’t deepened, leaving fans craving the “fire” promised in promos. The show’s narrative choices haven’t helped. Instead of nurturing the Mannat-Vikrant love story, the plot has veered into tired tropes—think love triangles and scheming relatives. The introduction of Mallika (Sharain Khanduja) as a manipulative half-sister and Aishwarya’s (Mona Vasu) villainous antics have hijacked screen time, sidelining the romance that initially hooked viewers. This shift, coupled with rushed pacing due to low TRPs, has made the storytelling feel forced, robbing the show of emotional depth.Scheduling woes have also played spoilsport. Mannat’s late-night slot (post-10:00 PM) and subsequent time changes to make way for Manpasand Ki Shaadi have frustrated viewers, disrupting viewership and tanking ratings. Add to that production missteps—like odd styling choices for the leads—and the show feels less polished than its glossy promos suggested.Despite these hiccups, Mannat still has fans cheering for its unique culinary backdrop and strong supporting cast. To reignite the spark, the show needs to refocus on its leads, balance drama with romance, and fix its scheduling mess.
